Title: Africa Month at Art@Africa: A Celebration of Presence, Story, and Connection

This May 2026, Art@Africa celebrates Africa Day with a month-long tribute to the richness, spirit, and creative force of the continent.

Africa Month is not confined to a single moment - it unfolds as a living, breathing experience across both our gallery and online space. Throughout May, a curated selection of exciting but meaningful works will fill our gallery, inviting visitors to encounter the textures, histories, and energies that shape contemporary African art. In parallel, our online exhibition extends this experience beyond physical boundaries, opening the work to a wider audience.

At the heart of this celebration are the artists. Across the month, we will be spotlighting selected African voices - sharing their stories, their processes, and the deeply personal and cultural narratives embedded in their work. Each piece becomes more than an object; it is a reflection of memory, identity, resilience, and becoming.

Rooted in the spirit of Kunye - meaning “togetherness” - this initiative embraces the power of connection. Between artist and audience, past and present, material and meaning. It is within this space of coming together that something truly resonant emerges.

Africa Month at Art@Africa is a celebration of who we are, where we come from, and the stories we continue to tell.

We invite you to experience it in-gallery, and to explore it online - as we honour African creativity throughout May.
