David Manando

David started at the age of 7 years working on creating wire cars commonly created for fun in African communities to play with by children. He made wire car functional sculptures till he finished school and later discovered that his wire sculptures is his life and he hasn't stopped creating them till now. When he discovered that making wire sculptures was going to be his living he was approached by Vaal Technikon to teach art to the graphic arts students. He then ran a few more workshops during that period. He also got involved in the George child wellfare where he taught how to make wire sculptures. David then made a break through in his career to create chandliers for the George Child Wellfare out of recycled materuals which was selected to document on Top Billing (A famous South African TV programme). He then was inspired to create larger artworks. David currently is working on life sized artworks
